The PLL Awareness Raising Kite Flight (PLL ARK Flight), held on April 13, 2024, was a resounding success, bringing together families, community leaders, and local organizations to raise awareness and foster solidarity against child sexual abuse and gender-based violence.
The event, which took place during Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Awareness Month, featured a variety of activities designed to educate, empower, and engage the community. Families from across East Orange participated in kite-making workshops, symbolizing their unity and resilience in the fight against abuse. The kite flights were a powerful representation of survivors’ aspirations and strength.
PLL is comprised of a diverse group of people who understand the importance of ending abuse. We are survivors, advocates, researchers, doctors and teachers, to name a few. But most importantly, we are committed to the work.
